Masters Collage

Banook Canoe Club is a competitive sprint canoe and kayak club.

All members (Family or Individual) can access boats during scheduled “Try a Boat” sessions.

BCC's Masters are coached and supported by Banook's Assistant Coach. If you are a member 25 years and older (Masters age), you may participate in Masters' C15 practice at no additional cost. If you decide you want to race, you will need to register for a Masters paddling program (i.e., coached or uncoached) which includes the ADCKC fee. If you enjoy paddling and want to train in team boats/other boats, please join the Coached Masters group.

Masters C15 practices schedule for 2024 still needs to be confirmed, but may occur up to 3 x per week:

C15 practices (subject to confirmation):
Tuesday, Thursday 6:30-7:30pm
Saturday 8:30-9:30am

Wednesday 6:30-7:30pm
Saturday 8:30-9:30am

Team boats, singles:
Thursday 6:00am - 7:00am

Friday evening we get together for Bike and Beverage or perhaps some other activity.

For those interested in becoming part of the Masters group and paddling more regularly, the options are Coached or Un-coached; the differences are outlined below.

If you have no experience with sprint canoe/kayak: follow us on social media for updates on "Learn To Paddle” sessions or visit the Learn to Paddle page to see if sessions are available!

Through July and Aug: Assistant Head Coach will coach Tuesday and Thursday mornings 6:00-7:00am and Saturday mornings that are not a regatta day.

Sunday 9:00am-10:00am - singles, crew boats - no coach/safety boat.

Evening Masters Coach summer 2024- TBD

Friday evenings on our own - maybe join us on a "Bike and Beverage"!

Un-coached Masters

This tends to be experienced paddlers, comfortable going out on their own without a coach boat and able to self-rescue should they tip. For those people that own a boat, they can access their boat during regular club hours.

There are 2 informal un-coached groups that tend to go out at 5:30am and 7:00/7:30am.

Club boats can be used weekday mornings until 8:30 am; evenings 5:00 pm - 7:30pm

Saturday 9:00am-10:30am

Summer: Membership fee + program fee of $194.00
