Community Outreach Paddling Programs
Banook Canoe Club has made a commitment to expanding use of our resources to broader and underserved communities. The goals of the program are to expand access to the club to communities that traditionally have not participated in Banook’s community of safe fun on the lake. The program works in collaboration with community partners with interest in having their members participate in paddling programs at the club. Typically the groups come to the club midday, and through the afternoons in the summer to participate in all the activities the club has to offer such as paddling, swimming and basketball.The job of the Community Outreach Coach is to facilitate a safe and introductory environment for these groups as they navigate the waters and club.
Afternoons Evening Programming
There is open wharf on Thursday nights that requires coaching for the membership. We have learn to paddle classes for the community and the Master group requires coaching in the evenings.
