March 15, 2020

Effective immediately, Banook Canoe Club will be closed for a period of 3 weeks. During this time, the club will undergo a deep cleaning/ sanitization.

There will be no training at our facility for members or athletes. This includes but is not limited to our high-performance athletes, coaches, Masters, development athletes, U12 athletes, and all other members who use our facility.

Further to this, we are cancelling all bookings in our facility. This includes Dragonboat practices, fitness classes, yoga classes, self-defense classes, and any other group or individual bookings. The Banook Board of Directors will meet early this week to discuss the various impacts this closure has. However, as we have seen, change is inevitable.

Our training camp in Florida has been closed and our athletes and chaperones will be returning to Canada on Tuesday, March 17.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with these measures. Hopefully these social distancing measures will assist to flatten the curve and protect our members and the community.
