Florida Trip 2018

Florida Spring Training – Update #2

Happy St Patrick’s day from Florida…

We started today with green pancakes followed by a nice long paddle with bright sunshine and no wind on the canals.

Of course it is not all paddling. We also have a great spot for doing core exercises and going running.

This afternoon we hit Sanibel Beach for some fun in the sun.

Meal time continues to be a hit with lots of great food for all.

Tomorrow is our off day so we are off to Bush Gardens for some amusement park fun!!!

Florida Spring Training – Day 1

Hello from sunny Florida,

Banook’s spring training camp is now in full swing.

The athletes have been racking up the KM’s each day pushing each other to really excel here in Florida.
We left snow in Halifax and landed in sunshine in Florida. Temperatures have been in the mid 20’s and weather forecast is looking awesome for the next 2 weeks.

Coach Toshko thought we may be exaggerating about alligators but at our first gas stop we got up and close to the real deal – we were not sure what constituted “molesting” an alligator but kept our distance just in case.

The canals are really great for paddling and a couple of our paddlers have sighted a manatee and we have heard of recent sighting of dolphins as well.

The accommodation are very nice with swimming pool, pool table, foosball, and table tennis – plus great homework area 🙂

Meals have been a highlight with great home cooked meals and no shortage of things to fill in between.
We get our first break tomorrow – road trip to the outlet mall !!!
