Recreational Canoe Polo

New to Banook Canoe Club for 2018 is recreational canoe polo.  Canoe polo is a fast and fun activity played in white water kayaks.  It involves passing and blocking a ball in an effort to score on the other team’s net.

Sean Gibson will provide coaching instruction for all participants.  Sean is a junior high teacher with a long history in the paddling community in Halifax as both a competitor and coach. 

The program will run for 8 weeks from June 26th to August 16th for two evenings per week from 6:30pm until 8:00pm (Tuesday and Thursday).   

The registration is open for participants 15 years of age and older. 

  • Cost to members:                 $80 + tax
  • Cost to non-members:         $100 + tax

Banook Canoe Club

Due to the weather forecast, our annual yard sale fundraiser has been moved to Sunday morning.

We also need a couple of volunteers to load tables and help setup Sunday morning. Donations are still being accepted, and can be dropped early sunday morning at the location below.

Atlantic Division CanoeKayak Canada will be hosting a Pleasure Craft Operators License Course on Sunday, May 27th, 2018 from 10am-2pm.

The cost for this course is $40.00 unless you will commit to drive the Officials Boats for a minimum of two regattas this season...It is FREE!
