Banook Cold Water Training Guidelines

Cold Water is anything below 8 degrees Celsius.

  1. All athletes and coaches must wear a PFD at all times (lifebelts do not count).
  2. All athletes must be accompanied by a safety boat.
  3. The safety boat must have enough PFD’s for the largest boat on the water.
  4. Proper lighting equipment must be used on the coaches boat and athletes when training more than 30 minutes before sunrise and more that 30 minutes after sunset.

NOTE: All Banook paddlers not supervised by a safety boat before the water temperature drops are encouraged to follow shorelines, and must have a PFD in their boat.
