Hello from Welland – Nationals Day 1

Tuesday Morning – August 22

Just a quick update from Welland, Ontario.

First I hope everyone is aware that despite many of the coaches competing here at the Nationals programs are still running at the club this week including kiddie canoe for our youngest athletes.

The trip with the boats was long 1900 km in 27 hrs which included a 3hr nap and a brisk walk in NB (ran out of gas 2km from a gas station).

Most have arrived at this point and we will have practice at 10:00 for everyone. The parents are all working well as the support team making sure the team is well fed and happy. Today the weather is looking a bit windy and the possibility of rain for ourh 4 K1 races but the rest of the week is looking better.
